Art in Progress: Beast Wars Rampage

So, I've been working on a piece as part of a collaborative project on Deviantart. Check it out on Devianart  Here . The project could still use more people, for those interested in the art-doing kind of thing.

Everyone involved gets assigned a Beast Wars character to draw, and I was given Rampage. Just for fun I figured I would post a series of images of it to show off the progress from lines to color flats. Shading and extra detailing will come in once a project-wide light source is decided.

Left: Pencil lines, drawn on watercolor paper at an 11x17 scale

Right: Digital Inks started over top the lineart in Photoshop. I don't dare traditionally ink my lines. I always muck it up something fierce.

Finished digital inks!

Left:  basic color flats slapped onto those lines. Progress, woo! Nothing fancy, just coloring in the lines.

Right: Finally for now, detailed color flats.

I'm taking a fairly simple, direct style for this project. Though for fun I may color him in a couple of different styles just to shake the cobwebs off of the digital coloring skills. Been a while since I've done lines and digital coloring like this. Like ...five years.

More Transformers Vinyl Decal Designs (Because They Are Fun)

Just a little art update post.  Been playing with a couple Transformers themed vinyl decal patterns, because they are fun and self-indulgent to come up with.

Decepticon Seeker logo. Going to try and cut the symbol out in standard purple, then the wings in colors based off of specific seekers and see if I can reliably layer the colors together without ruining too many in the process.

Autobot "Roll Out" logo.  I may try to dual-color this logo with the logo being red and the smokestacks done in silver/grey/chrome.  The right-hand version would most likely be the production version.

Would be offered with or without text.

Like Drawing Transformers? Like Contests? Check this out!

From Charticon.com :

"Do you like drawing Transformers?

Would you like your solo work or collaborated works with other artists displayed in one-shot or webcomic fashion on the Charticon website?

We're in the process of revamping our site and also providing regular updates and we'd like to show off more of you fans' artwork!

How can you get involved?

Easy! We're going to start with a topic for everyone to use and to let your work your humor muscles! This "Prime Riding Grimlock" meme has been everywhere, so make a spread or 3-panel webcomic poking fun at that topic!

(You can even use this idea if you're scratching your head for inspiration: Optimus Prime is standing in the doorway of his mansion's garage and he's wondering what to drive today. In all of the spaces are each of the Dinobots, in alt modes, wearing saddles! Maybe Rodimus is at the end in vehicle mode, grumbling!)

Or come up with your own funny idea! Express yourself! (Of course, we prefer submissions which are clean and appropriate for all audiences!)

Submit your work to  FeedTheCharticon@gmail.com - we prefer jpgs, bmps, non-animated Gifs, and other popular formats!

We will be accepting submissions from now until February 27th and we'll post a gallery of all the submissions on our site! (For those who are interested, there will be opportunities to create even more for the Charticon Army!)"

Sound like fun? Give it a shot!
